This is an exquisite antique Blue Willow serving platter was made in England by Ridgeway in the early 20th century. The porcelain platter measures 12.5 inches by 15.5 inches and features the iconic Blue Willow pattern.
In excellent vintage condition, it is without chips or cracks or crazing because it has been on display or in family storage for generations. Marked Ridgways England 1832 semi china engraved for Ridgway and Co.
Blue willow patterns are attributed to the myth of star-crossed lovers who fled from an irate father. They were saved by the gods and transformed into birds.
