A rare set of 606 Congress Playing cards featuring the famous race horses Swaps and Nashua. Artwork by famous equestrian artist Allen F. Brewer. Nashau lived 1952-1982 and was the Horse of the Year in 1955. Swaps lived 1952-1972. These two horses gained fame in 1955, when Nashua was favored to win the Kentucky Derby. Swaps won that race and history was made. Nashua won a match race against Swaps later in the year at the Washington Park in Chicago. The proposed purse for the two-horse match race was $75,000! There are 52 cards in each deck; the Jokers are missing. Own a piece of racing history!
