This is a medium-sized Steiff 1909 Replica Gold Teddy Bear, 0165/38, purchased in the 1980s in Stuttgart Germany. The bear has an ear button, a red bowtie, a yellow information tag, and an attached booklet that tells the story of the origin of the name "Teddy Bear", and its association with President Teddy Roosevelt in both English and German.
The teddy is 15 inches tall. His genuine gold-colored Mohair is in great condition and his head, arms, and legs are jointed and move fine. He has black glass eyes, an embroidered black stitched nose and mouth, and light gold wool felt paws. Each paw has embroidered claws. No growler.
