UNTREATED ULTRA RARE ELECTRIC BLUE SODAL

Typically Blue Sodalite is opaque and not nearly so bright in color saturation. This gem is untreated and is exceptional in both its color saturation and its size. An extremely rare and beautiful electric blue Sodalite from Badakhshan, Afghanistan. You can mine for this mineral for 30 years finding Sodalite in significant quantities on a daily basis and not find a single piece that is gem quality such as this. This mineral is fluorescent under shortwave uv blacklight glowing orange. The neon blue color of this gemstone is unlike any other blue there is. As far as color goes this is as good as it gets! This is a large gemstone for the species. There are some minor imperfections as can be seen in the photos. A blemish on the exterior and some minor inclusions within. This does not take away from the overall appeal of the piece with the exterior blemish giving it a more natural look.
