Vintage 1973 PACIFIC STONEWARE Signed B. WELSH USA Dutch Oven - Pottery 10” Wide

Pacific Stoneware began as Pacific Pottery in 1890 and produced ceramic and stoneware until it closed in 1986. In 1959, Pacific Stoneware filed for bankruptcy and the following year, Bennet Welsh, a thirty-seven-year-old ceramicist bought the company. He had studied pottery at the Museum Art . He put much of the old line of butter churns, crocks, and flowerpots back into production and began to manufacture artistic housewares such as vases, casserole dishes, and mugs in the folk style popular in the 1960s and 1970s. No chips or cracks and is a perfect piece of functional art!
