A lovely pair of vintage Victorian Cameo Creations. Both are in beautiful ornate gold tone frames that convex glass with a brass boarder on red velvet. These Cameos Creations are of Mrs.Hallet by Gainsborough and Miss Tickle by George Romney. They both measure 12”x10.5”.
History:
“Miss Tickle" is a shortened or common name for George Romney's portrait, Sarah Ley, Mrs Richard Tickell (c. 1770-c. 1817). The portrait depicts Sarah Ley, the wife of playwright Richard Tickell, capturing the idealized femininity of the late 18th century.

“Mrs. Hallet” aka Mrs. Elizabeth Stephen (1763/4–1833) was an heiress who married William Hallett on July 30, 1785. This cameo is of her comes originally from the famous double portrait by Thomas Gainsborough, Mr and Mrs William Hallett, also known as The Morning Walk, painted shortly before their wedding. The painting is held by the National Gallery in London. She was known for her beauty and grace.
