This is a rare but beautiful English Elm vase with a lovely wild gnarly grain look,and beautiful golden brown colours throughout.
It is just full of character with all natural inclusions and splits left as i found them and small patches of burr throughout as you can see from the images.
This has come from a living Elm tree that is beleived to be over 300 years old but sadly is now dieing so parts have been cut off to try and save it of which this vase is just a small part.
Sizes are - 19cm tall 19.5cm at the top and the base is 9cm wide with an even wall thickness of 5mm.
Or 7-1/2" tall. 7-5/8" at the top with a 3-1/2" base and a wall thickness of a 1/4".
It is finished with a smooth hard wax oil that is hardwearing.
